Five Things Not to Do When You Style Your Clothes

Published on 2 August 2024 at 22:03

There are many mistakes people make when they style their clothes. From mixing patterns to picking colors, sometimes it all can be really hard. I'm going to make it a little bit easier for you and help you as much as i can with this five fashion tips about what you shouldn't do when you style your clothes.

1. Don't use more than three colors.

Now, I know that some people like to wear colorful outfits, but choosing more than three colors is just too much. When I say this I don't mean floral dresses that have many colors because such dresses can be really cute, what I actually mean is an outfit consisting of several pieces of clothing. Balancing your outfit is really important and when you wear more than three colors that doesn't look good and people probably think that you didn't even try when you were choosing clothes. Personally, I like to match two colors and I wear two-collored outfits most of the time. It looks effortlessly pretty and very pleasing to the eye. What is also really important is to use colors that go well with each other. Believe me when I tell you this because every time I wear outfits like that I get so many compliments about my style. Of course it's not only about the colors, it's also about the shape, patterns etc., but colors definitely play a big role in creating an outfit because they have a power to attract someone's attention. Well, use that power!

2. Don't let your outfit be too ordinary.

When you think that your outfit looks too basic, you have to find something to take it to the next level. That's where the accessories come in. Accessories are the best solution to make your outfit look better. There are so many options. You can use hats, bags, jewelry, sunglasses, scarf, literally anything. When they are styled well, accessories can add charm and beauty making your style more interesting to look at. Since there are so many options you can play with them as much as you want, but also be careful not to wear too much of them beacuse once again balance is very important.

3. Don't wear clothes that do not fit your body type.

Dressing according to your body type is essential as it can enhance your overall appearance and boost your confidence. When you wear clothes that flatter your body shape, you not only look better but also feel more comfortable and self-assured. Understanding your body type helps in choosing the right silhouettes and styles that accentuate your best features. Embracing your body shape and dressing to highlight its strengths can make a significant difference in how you present yourself to the world.

4. Don't wear clothes you don't feel comfortable in.

One more thing you shouldn't do is ignore comfort. It's crucial to feel comfortable in what you wear. Avoid sacrificing comfort for style because when you feel good in your clothes, it shows in how you carry yourself and boosts your confidence. Comfort should always be a priority when putting together your outfits. Remember, when you feel comfortable in your clothes, you exude confidence and style effortlessly. So, prioritize both comfort and style when selecting your outfits to look and feel your best.

5. Avoid wearing clothes that are too wrinkled or dirty.

The last thing I want to mention is keeping your clothes tidy. Ensuring your clothes are wrinkle-free and clean is crucial because even the most stylish outfit can lose its charm if it's wrinkled or dirty. Investing time in properly caring for your clothes by steaming, ironing, or washing them according to the care instructions will elevate your overall appearance and make your outfits stand out in a positive way. Remember that a well-kept wardrobe speaks volumes about your style and attention to detail.
